Bouygues Immobilier designs living spaces and addresses several different market segments: housing, offices, neighbourhoods and towns. It listens to its customers, working alongside them to co-design enjoyable places to live.
Its role is to help local authorities promote green spaces, build low-carbon projects and create property developments that re-introduce nature into urban environments. Bouygues Immobilier creates spaces where people can live, work and meet by adopting more people-centric and sustainable methods. In other words, places designed for better living.
Bouygues Immobilier is driving change. It strives to address key urban environmental and social concerns by maximising its positive impacts (urban regeneration and local employment) and minimising its negative ones (CO2 emissions, consumption of resources and effects on biodiversity).

Strategic priorities
Rethink new housing and integrate more green spaces into urban environments
Demographic and climate-related challenges, coupled with behavioural change, are making us rethink our approach to housing. Bouygues Immobilier commissioned the Observatoire Société et Consommation, a research and strategy consultancy firm, to conduct an exclusive study into aspirations and expectations on this subject in France. The key issues brought to light made it possible to directly address people’s needs. Bouygues Immobilier seeks to make its housing more sustainable and energy-efficient, whilst also making an effort to save resources, encourage biodiversity and support soft mobility. Its properties are also modular and may be custom-developed to adapt to all seasons and lifestyles.
This approach underscores Bouygues Immobilier’s commitment to limiting land take, to increasing soil permeability and to developing outdoor spaces which encourage biodiversity and allow people to experience nature in all its developments. As such, it has made gardens one of the flagship components of its housing offer. They are always designed with the help of ecologists and landscape gardeners. These little bubbles of nature in the heart of cities, recognised as exemplary by the Jardins de Noé environmental NGO, are a hotspot for local flora and fauna and serve as a meeting place for local residents. What is more, Bouygues Immobilier ensures the long-term viability of these gardens by passing on the guidelines on ecological management to the co-owners. Bouygues Immobilier was one of the first companies to be recognised as “committed to nature” in 2020.
Decarbonise its products and services
Bouygues Immobilier’s goal is to reduce its carbon emissions by:
- reducing its carbon footprint, opting for design methods that use less energy, replacing concrete with mineral- or bio-based materials, or using low-carbon concrete;
- helping people to reduce their carbon footprints, switching from traditional gas to lower-carbon energy sources wherever possible, offering alternatives to fossil fuel-driven transport with projects located close to public transport that therefore encourage soft mobility;
- restoring cultural heritage sites whilst also improving energy efficiency with Nouveau Siècle, Bouygues Immobilier’s subsidiary specialising in the renovation of heritage buildings;
- turning old offices into housing units with Coverso, a service specialising in the conversion of commercial property into residential buildings.
Build office properties fit for the future
Today’s workers split their time between the office, third places and the home. In response to these new patterns, Bouygues Immobilier has developed the Bureau Généreux (generous office) programme – a fresh approach to commercial property that envisions office spaces as pleasant places to work and spend time, maximising benefits for employees, businesses, the local community and the planet. All Bouygues Immobilier office properties currently under construction qualify for the BBCA low-carbon-building label.
Design new products
Property needs to keep pace with changes in society and the ever-evolving needs of occupants, local communities and users. Recognising this imperative, Bouygues Immobilier has designed a range of new products that address the challenges encountered by specific segments of the population, from coliving spaces (Nomo), modular loft apartments (Loji) and coworking facilities (Wojo), to heritage building renovation (Nouveau Siècle), office blocks converted into homes (Coverso) and sheltered housing for the elderly (Les Jardins d’Arcadie).
Operational priorities
- Work to sustain business activity in a market experiencing deteriorating conditions and declining volumes.
- Roll out across France new Bouygues Immobilier products and services that are adapted to a challenging market and make the company stand out against the competition.
- Help fight global warming by building differently and bringing more nature into urban environments.
