The Bouygues group is reviewing its processes, products and services in order to preserve resources and incorporate circular economy principles, with the aim of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions and reaping the many other environmental and economic benefits that this will entail.

EXAMPLES OF SOLUTIONS

A WORLD LEADER IN RECYCLING

With over 800 recycling plants worldwide (permanent and mobile recycling platforms), Colas is among the world leaders in recycling.

Colas recycles and reuses some of the waste and deconstruction materials from its own infrastructure projects by turning them into gravel, aggregate and asphalt.

SUSTAINABLE SMARTPHONES

Bouygues Telecom is committed to supporting circular economy initiatives such as its Sustainable Smartphone Solutions initiative.

Its aim is to encourage customers to recycle, recover, recondition and repair their mobile phones.

RE-USING RESOURCES

Cyneo is a Bouygues Construction subsidiary which helps companies in the re-use sector to expand and grow, whilst allowing them to remain independent.

They have access to a digital platform which boasts a whole range of support, including the latest updates on technology and regulations, training, and advice from others in the field. The first technical platform with spaces available for rent has been opened in Vitry-sur-Seine, near Paris, and other such projects are in the works further afield.

NOUVEAU SIECLE

Bouygues Immobilier has launched Nouveau Siècle, a subsidiary specialising in the rehabilitation of listed buildings and sites.

Refurbishing a historic building produces a carbon footprint 30-70% lower than demolishing it and building a new building of equivalent size.
